Check out my new video to give you that ultimate summer vibe. Hope you enjoy!
One thing that I have learned whether it be those who are in the early stages of dating or who have been booed up for a while. There are a lot of people who don’t know how to date. I’m not talking the casual dating such as a dinner and movie but instead finding exciting new ways to get to know one another or thinking outside the box when it comes to their regular dating routine. I came up with ten fun-filled dates in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas that you and your boo definitely should give a try. Check them out below!
Wine connoisseurs, please visit my favorite winery, which is located in Chaddsord, PA, just outside of Philadelphia or their second location in Peddler’s Village in Bucks Country, PA. For the summer they have a host of events such as Friday Night Wine Down which includes food trucks, live music, and board games. Their Red, White & BBQ features frozen adult treats such as their Red, White, and Blueberry Wine Slushie and Sangria Wine Popsicle. You can also schedule a Reserve Tasting and Winery Tour which includes a tour of the winery, premium wines and artisanal snacks ($40 per couple).
2. Cooking Classes
For my foodies, why not bond through your love of food? Sur La Table located inside of King of Prussia Mall offers date night cooking classes which include three course themed meals such as Cooking With Wine, A Tour of Italy and Summer Tuscan Steakhouse ($138 per couple). You can also reserve a spot at Cook, in Rittenhouse Square, where you can enjoy culinary demonstrations and cooking classes such as sushi, vegetarian/vegan, and international cuisines (price varies $85-$165 per person).
Instead of the usual Netflix and chill venture out to a free movie night with Screening Under The Stars. Every Thursday night beginning July 4th until August enjoy an outdoor movie theater showcasing some classic and new movies. Bring a blanket or chairs and snacks are allowed (Free).
For those who enjoy science or astronomy, two of my favorite exhibits to attend are Science After Hours and Night Skies in the Observatory, which are both held at the Franklin Institute every month. The Science After Hours program includes demonstrations, experiments, and games and themed exhibits such as SCI-CHELLA an ode to Coachella and Clue (the board game and film) for the summer. Night Skies in the Observatory allows guest to gaze at the night sky and see sights of the moon, stars, and planets ($50 per couple and additional money for cash bar).
If you and bae love to get your adrenaline rushing, you should try Treetop Quest an adventure park that includes various obstacles and zip lines reaching up to 60 feet tall. The two and a half hour course includes Tarzan ropes, tight ropes, and other challenges that will heighten your physical and mental capabilities ($105.84 per couple).
6. Escape Room
Love a challenge; Escape Room will help to stimulate all of your senses in 60 minutes? During this time, you must search for clues that include secret messages and mysteries that lead you through an escape route and help you to earn freedom. Choose from The Meltdown, The Dig and The Agency ( $60 per couple Sun-Thurs and $64 per couple Fri-Sat).
Hold hands and dance the night away at a local skating rink. A fun activity that also includes some pretty intense cardio along with some great music. Locations that offer adult nights are Millennium Skating Rink located right outside of Philadelphia across the bridge in Camden, NJ ($14 per couple with skates and $20 per couple for skate rental). Also, The Palace Skating Rink ($22-$24 per couple) located in Northeast Philadelphia.
If you’re willing to take a drive, you should head to Newark, DE to Main Event Entertainment. The ultimate entertainment center which features a full bar and food, arcade, laser tag, mini golf and a host of other fun-filled activities. These type of dates to me are the best and allow you to unwind and have fun (price varies depending on activities).
The summer’s most popular hangout in Philadelphia and a great date to spend a summer day or night. Relax in the park’s handmade hammock or hang out in the Oasis adorned with beautiful floating gardens. Catch a bite to eat at some popular eateries such as Chickies and Petes and Distrito. Play a game or two on the Boardwalk or have a drink at three of the Harbor’s bars (price varies depending on activities).
10. Wax and Wine
Looking for something more intimate, relaxing, and and want to touch on your creative side. Wax and Wine is a great way to create memories and unlock your creativity. The establishment is BYOB, and you are also allowed to bring little bites to eat in which they will provide plates and napkins. The 75-minute class comes with two packages the Vintage package which includes one candle per person ($75.60 per couple) and the Label package, which consists of two candles per person ($97.20 per couple).
I hope you all enjoyed my suggestions for summer dates; I tried to include different price points, as well as different areas of dating that everyone may consider fun. Hey, you may even want to to try out all 10. If you haven’t already please check out my Summer Nights With You playlist, a perfect ending to date night.
